South Derbyshire Covid Information Connectors
Could you help us share information about COVID-19 in your community?
COVID-19 has had a huge impact on everyone in South Derbyshire. We know residents are worried about catching the virus and about the consequences of lockdown. With reduced social contact, poor mental health and potential financial impacts the need for consistent, timely and accurate information at a community level is essential to ensure our health and safety during this current pandemic.
Although the roll out of the vaccine is really exciting, we've still a way to go to keep each other safe and get life back to normal.
We want to make sure that residents, from across every community in South Derbyshire, stay up to date with the latest official guidance and advice. This is why we have launched our Covid Information Connectors network.
About the Covid Information Connectors network
The network will be made up of volunteers from all over South Derbyshire who want to make a difference in their communities. Connectors can be from an organisation that works with a community groups, a Parish Council, a community leader or an individual who is well connected in their community.
Whoever you are - please help us to help you and your community.
The network will give residents the chance to stay up to date on the latest advice about COVID-19. You'll be kept regularly informed so that you can share information with your own networks of family, friends and other community members and help them to make sense of the facts about the virus.
About our volunteers:
We're looking for organisations and individuals who:
- Are currently involved/actively taking part in the community either through a community group or job role
- Already have a network of connections in the community
- Have an existing far reaching Facebook page or similar platform
- Have regular communication with people via social media and other means
Your role as a CiC:
- You will receive the latest information about COVID-19 directly from us
- You will share this information with anyone in your community via your own networks, however you want to achieve the farthest reach
- You let us know what is and isn't working and ask questions on behalf of your community and network.
