Support during the current coronavirus pandemic

Where to turn

The South Derbyshire Partnership has produced a leaflet which will be sent to all homes in South Derbyshire with contact details of organisations which can offer support during the current coronavirus pandemic.

A copy of the leaflet is attached.

Coronavirus cases in South Derbyshire

The latest figures show a reduction in the number of COVID-19 cases in South Derbyshire.

There were 325 cases of COVID-19 confirmed between 23 and 29 January compared to 406 cases in the previous week (16 to 22 January).

Although this is positive, it is necessary to continue to follow all guidelines to prevent the further spread of the virus: particularly "hands, face, space".

Coronavirus community testing

Please continue to use the community testing centres in South Derbyshire and encourage friends and family to do the same.

The centre at Gresley Old Hall closes today but the testing centre at Midway Community Centre remains open until further notice.

You don't need to book. You can turn up each day, 9am to 7pm on weekdays (last admission 6.15pm) and 9am to 4pm at weekends (last admission 3.15pm).

The test is available for those over the age of 11 and don't have symptoms. Support will be offered to anyone who tests positive.

Volunteering opportunity: COVID connectors network

If you are the kind of person that likes to be first with the news and you have a good network of family and friends, there is a volunteering opportunity which will allow you to pass on the latest information on the COVID-19 pandemic.

The volunteering positions are organised by South Derbyshire CVS in partnership with Derbyshire County Council, South Derbyshire District Council and Derbyshire Health Authorities to make sure that residents from across every community in South Derbyshire stay up to date with the latest official guidance and advice on COVID-19.
